Exadata - Oracle DB Long running Transactions
Issue #:
We faced long running transaction for the below query on 14th of Jan 2020. Which resulted in error being returned. Similar such events have occurred intermittently 74 times over a period of 30days. Which has resulted in appointment errors.
Could you please check whether the query needs to be tuned or indexing is required.
Analysis:
1. We need to do stats gathering explicitly on tables every day. I can see stats gathered last month.
2. Check with Developing team whether they have planned for partitioning on table because I don’t see any partitions and table size is more than 800GB.
3. Request Developing team to plan for partition on this table for permanent solution.
