Step98 -- Continuation

Provide password for SYS,SYSTEM,PDADMIN and click next

 

 

Select groups and click next

 

 

Check pre-requistics errors

 

ignored swap size

After checking command output of oifcfg getif, 192.168.136 was taken as public ( supposed to public ) and 192.168.137 was taken as private ( supposed to be private ).
So ignored error

 

 

select ignored all and click next

 

 

Click YES

 

 

Click Install

 

 

 

 

Step99 DB software installed and DB creation scripts were generated.

Step100 After installation of DB software instead of DB creation scripts, I used DBCA.

 

 

Select advanced configuration and click next

 

 

Select RAC database, admin manager and general purpose or Transaction processing and click next

 

 

Click Next

 

 

Provide container and pluggable DB names and click next

 

 

Select ASM and provide diskgroup and select OMF and click next

 

 

select FRA and diskgroup with size and click next

 

 

Click Next

 

 

Click Next

 

 

 

 

Click next

 

 

Click next

 

 

Provide password for SYS,SYSTEM, PDBADMIN and click

 

 

select create database and click next

 

 

click initialization parameter and select parameters needed and click close

 

 

click customize storage and change values as needed and click on apply/revert and click close

 

 

 

 

scan was not identified. named server is down, so restarted named server

 

 

Click on Check Again and this time scan error disappereared. select ignore all and click on next

 

 

Click Finish

 

 

DB Creation failed

 

 

in log files it shows more memory needed. So increased 3gb to 5gb for virtual machine

 

 

Restarted once again database creation using DBCA but this time catclust.sql execution failed

 

 

 

In logs, there is no clear understanding error. saw some perl command execution failed

 

 

Tried database silent creation method but same error

 

 

Changed database_compatability in ASM instance

 

 

changed permission for $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle to 6751

 

 

Once again started DB creation using dbca and this time it is failed in accessing DATA diskgroup

 

 

stopped cluster but this time DATA diskgroup unable to stop

 

 

 

 Finally restarted virtual machine

 

 

After Virtual Machine started, cluster was not coming up

 

 

Changed permission to $ORACLE_HOME and enabled CRS

commands:
CRSCTL ENABLE CRS
CHMOD -R 777 /OPT

started has service

 

 

once again restarted virtual machine and this time cluster came up automatically but MGMTDB down

 

 

started MGMTDB manually and it came up without errors

 

 

once again started DB creation but Still DATA diskgroup error

 

 

changed permissions for oracle file in grid and DB home path

commands:
chmod 6751 /opt/bin/oracle – grid
chmod 6751 /opt/app/product/12.2.0.1.0/oracle_home – database

 

Once again started DB creation in silent mode and this time it was successful

 



End of RAC installation.

Tried to install Oracle 12c 2-node RAC for testing purpose but due to low Hardware configuration, ended up with Single Node RAC. I got lot of issues during Installation and tried to resolve them with my best knowledge. Please find below installation steps and troubleshooting. Main issues started from Step90. you can go through quickly. Requirements Most of the times, bridge option in VMWARE will not connect with host machine. I tried below option to use internet connection from host machine. We need to cross verify vmnet8 is NAT or not.
